Sitara Privacy Policy
How the Sitara app handles information when your child plays.
Last Updated: October 20, 2026
Sitara is a word and trivia game made for children aged 6 to 9, published by Sumegh Solutions. This policy explains, in plain words, what happens to information when your child plays. It applies to the Sitara app only. Our website has its own Privacy Policy.
1. The Short Version
- We do not collect, see, or store any personal information about your child or you. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no chat, no photos, no microphone, and no location.
- Game progress stays on the device. Stars, stickers, settings, and the players your child creates are saved only on that phone or tablet. We never receive them.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Every ad request is marked as coming from a child, so Google treats it under its rules for children: no personalized ads, no ads based on interests, and only ads rated for general audiences. The app cannot access the device's Advertising ID.
- Grown-up areas are locked. Links out of the app and options that delete things are behind a Parental Gate, a question meant for adults.
2. Information on the Device
To remember your child's game, the app saves on the device only:
- each player's chosen picture and a nickname made from preset words (never a real name);
- stars earned per level, stickers collected, and which stickers have been seen;
- settings, such as sound on or off;
- for ad pacing, the time the last full-screen ad was shown.
None of this leaves the device. We have no server and no copy of it. It is excluded from Android backups and from transfers to a new device, so a new device starts fresh. You can remove it at any time:
- Parents' Corner → Reset progress clears one player's stars and stickers.
- Parents' Corner → Delete a player removes a player and their progress.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything.
3. Advertising
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob (Google LLC or its affiliates), a member of Google Play's Families Self-Certified Ads SDK Program. A small banner may appear at the top of the Home, Level Select, and Results screens. A full-screen ad may appear only after your child finishes a level and taps Continue, and never more often than our limits allow. Ads never appear while your child is answering questions.
Every ad request made by the app:
- is tagged as child-directed under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and as coming from a user under the age of consent (for the EEA, UK, and similar laws);
- asks for non-personalized ads only, rated G (general audiences);
- carries no Advertising ID. The app's Android manifest removes the permission that gives access to it, so on current Android versions the ID is unavailable to the app.
To serve ads, measure them, and prevent fraud, Google's software may process information about the device and the ad request. Examples are the IP address (which can suggest an approximate location), device type and settings, an app-specific identifier, and how the ad was viewed or tapped. Google handles this information under its own policies, including its rules for child-directed requests:
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Google Privacy Policy
- Google's policies for ads directed to children (AdMob help)
We do not sell information, share it with anyone other than as described above, or use it to build profiles. We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or any other tracking service.
4. Device Permissions
The app requests only what the ads need: internet access and network status. The Google Mobile Ads SDK also includes Android's WorkManager component, which adds standard background-task permissions (keeping the device awake briefly, running after a restart, and foreground services). The app does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, or any other personal data on the device.
5. Links and the Parental Gate
The app has no links in the children's areas. In Parents' Corner, which is behind the Parental Gate, you can open this policy or the app's Play Store page. These open outside the app, in your browser or the Play Store. Every link and every delete action asks the Parental Gate question again.
6. Children's Privacy
The app is designed for children and complies with Google Play's Families Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way to collect it from them. If you believe information about your child has reached us in some way, contact us and we will help.
7. Your Choices
- Turn off the device's internet connection and the game keeps working, just without ads.
- Use Parents' Corner to reset progress or delete players.
- For information Google processes when serving ads, see the Google links above.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and publish the new version at this address. If a change affects how children's information is handled, we will update the app's store listing as well.
